Welcome to The Barbecue Pit. Here, you can enjoy just hanging out at The Pit and reading any post you find interesting. Feel free to comment if you like, or just enjoy the pictures. I will try to find interesting images for most of the posts here. That brings me to a question… Okay, why are these people jumping? While Googling around for “jumping” for some images to use, to my surprise, I came across a new trend used by professional photographers – The Jump. Now, its been awhile since I was a little griller, but I remember the first high speed camera that a family member bought. You could freeze the dog in mid-jump, a car going down the street, or just about anything else. It was fun to see what you could capture. Here’s the type of Jump photos I remember…
Some of the early photographers caught interesting jumps as you can see here. I’ll have to come back to Ethel’s fate in another post. Its not pretty.
After awhile, however, the snapshots just slipped back to the “hold still and say cheese” mode like this one of the old cowboy, Gabby. With The Jump back in style now, its used not just for wedding shots, but for all kinds of events – reunions, anniversaries, what ever you can think of. Go figure..? But I digress. I want to welcome everyone to The Pit. Grab up a skewer for some kabobs or marshmallows and we can grill up some ideas.
